About Ryde Personal Transportation
My Name is George, or as my friends like to call me, Horhey.
Ryde Personal Transportation began with an idea that popped in my head midsummer of 2024. I had been driving with Uber and Lyft since December 2023, but it was a slow process as it was nonexistent in the city of Fort Dodge. One day I decided to make up some business cards and hand them out to all the hotels and bars in town. I also stopped at the Fort Dodge Regional Airport to let them know that I was offering Lyft and Uber. The airport was super excited that these services were going to be available because many incoming passengers have inquired about the different types of transportation services in town.
I found myself taking longer trips more than shorter trips, so that’s when I came up with the idea to start my own company. The idea evolved into something more. I found that a larger capacity vehicle was needed, so I’ve added a Cadillac XT6 that seats six and a 2024 14-passenger Mercedes Sprinter van to the fleet.
My wife, Meghan, and I along with our daughter recently moved to Marshalltown. We are excited to serve this new market with the same great service!
